@BohemianBoo Got your copy of Tom Sawyer handy?
@sunsporter1649 Um... no? I know you're mentally ill, but try to address the topic instead of just saying random things because your brain disease is acting up.

@BohemianBoo "Why was The Adventures of Tom Sawyer banned?"
@sunsporter1649 I googled this and it seems it wasn't that the government banned it from schools, it's actually that local governments stop requiring it in schools because parents were complaining. Which is stupid, but that's not a ban. A ban is when the government doesn't allow a book to be available in certain places, which is what Republicans are doing.
Also, one of the reasons Tom Sawyer was pulled during the eighties and nineties is because people thought it was "pro-communism." So it sounds like this was a result of McCarthyism.

@BohemianBoo Oh, I get it, a ban is not a ban unless it is a ban. Got it
@sunsporter1649 A ban is when the government doesn't allow you to have something.
In the case of Tom Sawyer, the local governments just weren't requiring Tom Sawyer as required reading in schools. The book was never made unavailable.

Also, the last time the book was challenged was in the nineties. So this isn't still going on.
And again, one of the reasons cited was that the book was supposedly communist. So this was a result of right-wing paranoia.

@sunsporter1649 Alright, now you're just ignoring what I'm saying because you know you're wrong.

@BohemianBoo Is that what they told you to say?
@sunsporter1649 Who's they?
