When I worked for the civil service, being caught taking classsified information back home would have earned me a criminal record and a custodial sentence. The rules are pretty clear.

If you had classified information, were asked for over a year politely to give it back, and refused to comply, you bet you would be subject to a search warrant to seize it. And you should be.
