My sons bike has been stolen tonight 😢

I told him so many times to put it away with the chain on but he never listened and it was just left outside the house. It's not of exceptionally high value and I checked everything, nothing else was taken. The sheds are still locked but I have one very upset child tonight who loved his bike and now can't ride it.

Sorry it happened
But hopefully your son will learn a valuable lesson

@paul98654 why would you wish that a child gets bullied?

Maybe this will.be a good lesson learned! He will take better care of the next one! We all have lessons like that growing up.

I had the worst bike I ever owned stolen out of the back of my truck. I didn't think anyone would take a bike like that.
:( im sorry thats so sad

Sorry to hear that. Low life thieves never cease to amaze me. Probably contact the police, just in case

@PatientlyWaiting25 I know its not going to be the same as a new bike, but here in Auckland there's places run by volunteers know as Bike Hubs where people donate bikes and they get serviced and repaired. You may be able to pick one up from a place like that for a small donation?

@MrAverage1965 sounds worth reporting it! What happens to the unclaimed bikes? Sold off? Donated?
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@nzjim I suspect they go to auction

i guess he wont leave it out anymore 😬 someone stole our bikes too when we were kids.. we where at the library and the cops brought us home .. in retrospect idk what the neighbors might have thought 😅
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F

I guess this is a lesson learnt the hard way for your son. Peoples' respect for other people and property has diminished drastically since my younger days 😢
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@nzjim I did think that there was a lesson in it for him. It's very annoying though.
nzjim · 61-69, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 agreed. There's a huge industry out there now providing a service to "protect" yourself and property from light fingered and dangerous people. Alarms, locks, cameras etc etc. There's a definite lack of respect these days. Hopefully your son gets a replacement bike along with a good lock!
