Do you believe in it? If that final decision was solely up to you, could you sentence a person to death ?(For the most heinous crime that you can imagine)

I used to have a firm belief in it, (even though in Canada, there is no death penalty) but after a while, there comes a time when certain circumstances in one's life takes what you believe in and shakes it to it's foundational core.
@Sidewinder so very true. There was a story on Mr Ballens podcast about a guy in jail whose doppelganger was in there also ppl would come up to him and say things like oh you're not going to speak to me and they would get mad at him and he didn't even know them. I searched the story and they look alike turns out the other guy actually committed the crime but what if, he was put to death? Also theres ppl with twins who grew up apart who never knew the other existed. My worst fear would be to end someone's life who was innocent.
