Why should the parent's be Tried in Court if the child is the one that did the crime

@smileylovesgaming I don't know, but the Mom referred to was found guilty on 4 charges and could receive up to 60 years (15 per charge) in jail.

@ChipmunkErnie what case are u talking about

@smileylovesgaming Don't remember the names offhand, but some MidWestern teenager shot four classmates to death at school and his mother was just found guilty of four counts of manslaughter because she didn't do enough to stop him.

@ChipmunkErnie His parents gave him the murder weapon days before the shooting and failed to take action to secure it. On the day of the shooting they refused to take him home after teachers had called them in to discuss disturbing drawings that he had made.

@SunshineGirl Lock them up! And lock up his grandparents for not raising their kids better!!

@ChipmunkErnie I think those are two specific areas in which they were criminally negligent, irrespective of their parenting skills or the alleged neglect of their child. Giving a firearm to a 15 year old is pretty reckless.

@SunshineGirl Giving a firearm to a 15-year old is pretty standard in large areas of the US, though. I didn't grow up that way, but even here on the heavily-developed East coast I grew up around a lot of gun-owner/hunters who considered firearms a standard part of the household.

@SunshineGirl how is giving a 15 year old a gun reckless. I owned plenty of guns at 15. The gun isn't dangerous it's the person that owns it

@smileylovesgaming Ah, of course.
