Early Friday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin had provided details on the continued rioting outside Delaney Hall — under the pretense of protesting allegedly poor conditions for detainees inside the facility — and stated, “On the evening of May 28th, approximately 100 anti-ICE rioters gathered around the Delaney Hall ICE facility. Rioters bit, kicked, and punched law enforcement officers. Governor Sherrill refused to allow state police to assist our officers. Assaulting and obstructing @ICEgov law enforcement is a crime and felony. Throughout the night, nine rioters were arrested. Anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Law and order will prevail.”
The secretary also shared the damage done to an ICE officer’s arm as one of the rioters was being charged for allegedly kicking and biting the man. Additionally, it was reported that six rioters had been arrested the previous night, just days after New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) joined other leftist leaders in signing legislation aimed at barring law enforcement from wearing face coverings to protect their identities from the violent mobs.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced Friday that state police will be taking control of peacekeeping operations outside Delaney Hall, a detention center in Newark, N.J., operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement that has been the site of violent clashes between protesters and federal officers over the past week.
Sherrill also said that she would establish a “peaceful protected protest zone” near the facility to prevent further violence.
