And that is why we need to stop them at the border and insist on everyone being screened before they arrive. I wonder if those 3 have police records in their home countries?

Much of this could be avoided if they would prosecute the people buying the scrap metal they know is stolen. People that buy this stuff know doggone well that if someone arrives with 10 manhole covers that they are stolen from the community. Just like the guy that arrives with 10 catalytic converters and visits the same pawn shop with a lawn mower or tv with every visit.

@DallasCowboysFan I think they do contact the police when they try to sell manhole covers and other things that obviously look like they were stolen. Someone did try to sell those in Oklahoma and got caught. Also someone stole the vases off of grave markers, the type of vases on chains that can be turned upside down into the marker so mowers can go over the markers. Maybe this is how they got caught and arrested.

But do they care?

@Promises 25% of Oklahoma County jail is filled with foreign nationals, that’s just the ones that got caught. The temptation for the youth to join gangs, maybe it’s security or toughness or a way to get money selling drugs or doing other gang-related business activities.
@cherokeepatti I know exactly what you are saying. It breaks my heart others don't see what we see. I try not to get political here, but I fight it hard because I see the wickedness and I am getting tired of holding my tongue. I feel I'd just ruffle feathers though, but I really need to get of the fence here. Plus, I have a hard time articulating these things.

@Promises I have heard some stories of people doing things for cash that they knew was illegal, thinking it was easy money. Two men were doing landscaping for a woman who was pretty well off. Her and her husband broke up and she wanted them to cash a check and it was on his account, they went to the bank and did it and got arrested there. Sat in jail for over a year and then were deported, it too way too long to do it but it was that ratty jail with a horrible reputation. Another young man was asked to do a drug delivery and he got arrested and left the country. He was in love with an American young woman, and they were planning on getting married. I don’t know why he did it but these are just some examples.

San Francisco and other big cities has it worse

@FreestyleArt Imagine the damages they have done wherever they have struck…just to the cell towers alone…yikes!

They must be pretty desperate to pull that sort of caper.

@Thevy29 Some people will do anything for cash money. Copper was stolen out of my city’s street lights several years ago. There is a plate at the bottom of those poles that can be taken off and they used that access to steal the wire. I don’t know how they kept from being electrocuted. The wire they got was not worth that much but it cost a huge amount to replace the wires.
