I love cop shows and movies, but I could never be a police officer.

Maybe in a small town where nothing really happens. Maybe. But a big city like Chicago or L.A., forget it. Or a sheriff deputy, where backup could be 10 minutes away while I'm in a shootout with a dangerous criminal. Hell no.

What's even weirder is, I love cop shows, but I don't love cops in real life. Cop shows give the impression that the police are competent and honorable, with only a few exceptions. That's not my experience.

@Darksideinthenight2 Interesting statistic. It's not so much the thought of having to fire a gun though, just the fact that I don't have the assertiveness and stuff needed to be a cop.
