Should police have the legal right not to help people who hate/don't support them?

Like if someone called for the police needing their help, and when they got to the person's house they notice either a defund the cops or an all cops are bastards banner. Should that give the cops the right to just leave and let the person deal with it on their own?

Maybe someone else left the pamphlet in their house. Maybe they are mentally ill and don't have the capacity to understand the issue. Maybe some protester handed it to them in the street. Maybe they are writing an article on the issue and the leaflet is research.

There's so many potential reasons for them to have such material, it's ludicrous that the police might be given the right to withold help. It's a typical kneejerk, reactionary response to a very complex issue.
