Do countries that implement the death penalty only do it to their own citizens?

Why did I ask this question?
We don't have the death penalty in our country and I want to know if I can get this sentence if I go to a country where this penalty is applied and commit a crime. Excuse my curiosity and sorry if I said something wrong, English is not my native language

If you commit a capital crime in a country that has the death penalty, you get the death penalty. It doesn't matter if you're from that country. Of course, you can always appeal to your own government to interfere with that law. It might even work.
