Is Putin safe from international law difficulties, since the US is arming Ukraine?

When both sides break the law is the law broken forever?

International law sounds good on paper but it is only relevant when it can be enforced and it cannot be enforced against Putin unless he is ousted by his own people and given up. So it's a moot point really.

@SW-User laws do not work

Arming a nation that your opponent is invading violates any law?
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@Elessar the law of armed conflict does outlaw arming a war without any attempt to negotiate peace. It's not legal to just go to war.

@Elessar right arming defenders. Really? That's not the question.

@Changeisgonnacome Attempts at negotiating peace have been there since the beginning, but fruitless, last time I checked.

The west/U.S. isn't going to war.
Nobody is going to conquer Russia so it will not matter. This might sound cynical but it is the truth. International law and war crimes are what you use to punish a conquered nation. All sides commit atrocities in war. But the only side that is usually ever accountable is the conquered side.

Case in point when the US started torturing people in the early 2000s the only person ever jailed was the whistle blower.
It doesn't really matter who allegedly has broken what law.

It matters how smart the lawyers are and how sympathetic the court that hears the case.

proxy wars often have unforeseen repercussions down the road...
Ahh you are a new account. That explains putin's dick in your mouth.

No, Putin is not safe.
So, let me get this straight. You would rather see other countries do nothing while the Ukraine is being flattened by the Russians. That's what you consider the right thing to do?
@Changeisgonnacome I'm sure as fuck not going to arm the invading aggressor. And if you haven't noticed, peace talks are consistently failing, because Putin doesn't want peace. So what exactly would you have the world do? Please elaborate as to your solution to the world's problems.

@LordShadowfire you still have a responsibility to avoid war and negotiate peace, even if you live in the real world
@Changeisgonnacome Are you listening? That was tried. Putin wants war. He will not stop.
