Why do some people turn into nasty trolls when we correct their grammar or spelling?

Why can't they accept being corrected in a civilised manner?

I do not mind being corrected for grammar. I became used to it at a young age as my mother was an English teacher and corrected us often growing up.

You were young at an early age. Age is inanimate and cannot be young or old.
