A lot of "new" slang is actually old slang

"Lit" is one thrown around a lot by the younger generations these days, which basically means "fun" or "cool." That one was first coined in the 1910s and originally meant for one to be intoxicated. "Sus" is another big one these days, popularized by the 2018 game Among Us and is short for "suspicious." That one's been around since the mid-20th century and was originally used as a verb to treat something with suspicion and investigate and/or figure it out (i.e. to sus the situation). The most jarring of all is "tricked out," meaning to decorate or dress something fancy. That one was first coined in the 16th century, its meaning having remained virtually unchanged since. Seriously, look it up!

I kinda argue about lit being that old since it is two entirely different meanings and contexts.

Lit being drunk never went away but it meaning "awesome, fun, cool, or great" is new. So it's new slang.
