Am I a bad guy? I don't think so

So some lady went on a tirade about me being racist for saying that it should be a requirement for foreign people who wish to live in the United States should learn English. each day I encounter people at my job who can't speak English at all not even broken English and even that in the work force slows everyone down.

Personally I don't have the time to keep bringing out my translator for temporary workers. and now I'm not saying they should forget their native tongue entirely but they need to learn enough for reasonable communication. any thoughts on this really I think that lady has no idea of what the word racist means my reasoning is very logical.

There’s no official language in the USA . Furthermore Spanish is the fastest growing language in the states and will be spoken by a majority of the people in 2050.
So you’ll better start learning Spanish

@DaddyThomas interesting how the states doesn't have an official language like canada does (english and french) the problem in canada is we are so multicultural (especially with chinese in my parts) that the chinese don't need to learn english to get on with life.... they can conduct all aspects of life in chinese...doctors, restaurants, most jobs, legal stuff, drivers license etc...but good luck being from other countries where english isn't your first language. it is those people who learn to assimilate and learn canada's official languages quickly...when my parents emigrated from europe in the late 60s my dad could speak some english but quickly learned by actually speaking it with coworkers. mom quickly learned it by watching sesame street.
