Am I a bad guy? I don't think so

So some lady went on a tirade about me being racist for saying that it should be a requirement for foreign people who wish to live in the United States should learn English. each day I encounter people at my job who can't speak English at all not even broken English and even that in the work force slows everyone down.

Personally I don't have the time to keep bringing out my translator for temporary workers. and now I'm not saying they should forget their native tongue entirely but they need to learn enough for reasonable communication. any thoughts on this really I think that lady has no idea of what the word racist means my reasoning is very logical.

Some of the schools here in uk are paying for up to 30 different translators and it really drags the british speaking kids down. I had a foreign taxi driver recently who i realised didnt have sat nav or understand it as he kept shouting "riggit...riggit" i finally worked out he was pronouncing the G in the word right...ie "do i go right?". It added an extra 15 mins to my journey and at least £25.
