So I’m going to the USA in May as part of the au pair program. I never worked with kids before so I’m anxious about it. On top of this my English isn’t perfect and the idea of people not understanding my thick accent also makes me anxious! I think my writing is strong but I have difficulty expressing myself effectively while speaking. Also. Be aware this is my first post here so bear with me! I leave you guys a morning selfie jaja.

You’re going to do just fine here. Just don’t be embarrassed or ashamed if we ask you to repeat yourself, and remember that you know more languages than almost any American. Remember too that you already know more languages than most Americans. Oh, and don’t worry, your English will get better while you’re here. How long are you planning on staying in the United States?
@insomniac thank you for your encouraging words. It’s the same my parents tell me as far as knowing more language than most Americans but many Americans can speak more languages too. The program is for a year and then I have to come back home to finish my university. This was just a way of me to improve my English and see the US which has been one of my dreams:)
