I'm getting about 90% of it. Parts of that accent do sound quite Irish.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@SomeIrishPerson Irish settlers
There was an always happy Newfie in basic training who sounded like this guy - went by the perfect name, too: Tommy Snooks.
Ducky · 31-35, F
It goes in and out. One part I'll understand perfectly, then another just misses me, even if it's the same sentence I was understanding fine a second ago.
Wallflow3r · 31-35, F
One time someone said I had a Newfoundland accent. Oof what an insult. 😆😅 guess it was pay back for when I said I thought she was British cause of her accent…

She’s from Australia. 💀
@Wallflow3r love the Ozzie's,
Wallflow3r · 31-35, F
@jackrabbit10 Can’t stand the accent 😆
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I understand him perfectly. Better than other Newfies because his accent is so Irish
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
If one knows the newfies, yes they’re easy to understand!!
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Definitely Irish. I once had a Irish friend.
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
I kinda understand this
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
I understand some of it
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Yes i understand enough , that's what English sounds like to someone who doesn't speak English I imagine.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@FreeSpirit1 I think you’re right
Nopeeee not at all paging @Lilymoon plz come to the front desk
BlobbyMcBlobface · 100+, M
He sounds like he's from Southern Ireland, he seems to have an Irish Gipsy accent.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@BlobbyMcBlobface he said his grandfather came from Ireland in 1842
BlobbyMcBlobface · 100+, M
@Jenny1234 Yes sorry I hadn't heard that part until I replayed it, then I felt silly 🤭
YoMomma ·
Somewhat ☺
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
A bit of it
come2gether · 46-50, M
Ha! Newfies
Apparently the Island has multiple dialects of their own.

This one is not so bad.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Yes I've actually heard worse lol
Almost completely. Seemed quite understandable.
About 80% understand
Bowenw · 61-69, M
HoeBag · 46-50, F
I barely understand any of that.
I would not even bet he is speaking English.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@HoeBag that’s what the rest of Canada would say too
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@Jenny1234 I tend to think if someone cannot even articulate well, maybe what they are saying isn't that important.

If they are learning a language, it is one thing if they do not speak well but otherwise, it should sound clear.
the longer you listen to him. the more you can understand what he is saying, like the lingo,
