Have you ever censored yourself unnecessarily?

About 12 years ago I was looking after my nieces (2 and 1 yo at the time) so often I got very used to holding back certain words.

So much so, in fact, that when I stubbed my pinky on a table leg, I yelled out in english (my 2nd language) the word bubblewrap. I was alone and at home as it happened 😅

Fast forward until today and I stubbed my toe yet again. At home, alone.
This time I laughed sarcasticly as I pronounced, in english (still my 2nd language) "I am not pleased with this turn of events at all"

Better than the other way around. 😅 I actually had a dream where my brother told me to tone it down with my cussing as he has a little kid now. I realized that I really should be more careful because I really overdo it lately.

@CrazyMusicLover My nieces have reached the age where they use no-no words, but only around certain people, like friends, me or their mom, but never in front of strangers or older relatives.

We don't encourage it obviously, but we have decided to ignore it rather than giving them attention when they use those words.
