So a couple from church invited me to lunch yesterday it was nice

But they started talking to me about the importance of having a goal and I was like what kind of goals could I have? I’m 46 divorced, in someway widowed, I have a job(part-time).
They were like you go for a long bike rides over two or three days. You plan it and then you do it.

Or they said you could be a translator because they know I speak English and French perfectly. But I looked into that and it takes a lot of study. I don’t think I could handle it.

I told them goals are for the youth, when you’re young you have sports goes like you want to learn snowboarding and surfing, and finish your studies and get a good job, and get married. Once you’ve done all that there are no more goals. That’s my opinion anyway, and I’m okay with it.

sometimes people in church are quite goal orientated. they dont like to sit around and do nothing. even myself has been like this, telling a girl who came to housegroup that she should come to church on sundays. now im just fairly quiet in church.
