I Love Stupid Jokes
When I tell jokes, I try to make them clean and simple. You get the point right after I say it. I don't know if that classifies them as "stupid" or not.
Here is one of my favorites.
Dad was working on the garage and decided he needed some help.
"Dennis," he called. "What are you doing?"
"Helping Margie," came the answer.
"Margie, what are you doing?" Dad asked.
"Nothing," Margie replied.
Every time I tell this joke, I get a good laugh.
I don't like dirty jokes. I am not a prude, but I heard enough in the cocktail hours when my parents had company and one or more of the guests had too much to drink and began to get a little "blue". I was so quiet, they often forgot I was still in the same room and listening. I couldn't laugh because I didn't get the punch line and some adult would surely ask me what it was. What could I answer if I didn't know?
By the time I was enough to get the adult jokes, I decided I didn't like them. I left the room when they started - and nobody ever noticed I was gone.
