Fox, Goose And Bag Of Beans

Once upon a time a farmer went to a market and purchased a fox, a goose, and a bag of beans. On his way home, the farmer came to the bank of a river and rented a boat. But in crossing the river by boat, the farmer could carry only himself and a single one of his purchases: the fox, the goose, or the bag of beans. If left unattended together, the fox would eat the goose, or the goose would eat the beans. The farmer's challenge was to carry himself and his purchases to the far bank of the river, leaving each purchase intact. How did he do it?

I've heard this answer before but then I saw your avatar so had a look at that and then zoomed in , what was the question again?
I know the answer but will let others try to figure it out.

First he carries the fox over then comes back and finds his beans have gone, so he goes back to the market and gets some more beans, so then he takes the beans over so it’s back to the market again. Then he takes the goose over and comes back for the beans and then he brings the goose back, but the fox has run off in the mean time so he gives up and has goose and beans for supper.
