The Surprise Pupil
Little Mary Margaret was far from the top of her class at Catholic school, mostly because she spent the entire period fast asleep.
One afternoon, Sister Mary Joseph decided to catch her off guard. "Tell me, Mary Margaret," the nun called out, "who created the universe?"
Mary Margaret didn't budge. Seeing his friend in trouble, little Johnny sitting behind her leaned forward and jabbed her in the lower back with a sharp pencil.
"God Almighty!" yelled Mary Margaret, bolting upright.
"Very good, Mary Margaret," the nun nodded, pleased, before returning to the lesson.
Ten minutes later, the nun turned back around. "And Mary Margaret, who is our Lord and Savior?"
Again, Mary Margaret was dead to the world. Johnny reached for his trusty pencil and jabbed her a second time.
"Jesus Christ!" screamed Mary Margaret.
"Correct again," praised the nun, as Mary Margaret immediately sank back onto her desk and drifted off.
Finally, the nun posed a trickier question to the class. "Mary Margaret, what did Eve say to Adam after they had their twenty-third child?"
Johnny raised his pencil for a third rescue attempt. But before he could even press down, Mary Margaret whipped around, stood up, and roared at the top of her lungs:
"If you stick that damn thing in me one more time, I will break it in half!"
Sister Mary Joseph fainted on the spot.
