A doctor lacking empathy

A woman suffers a severe accident and undergoes surgery. Her husband waits anxiously. After several hours, the surgeon approaches him.

“Good news: the surgery went well. However, her recovery will be lengthy. She’ll require years of physical therapy at $2,000 per month.”

The husband’s concern deepens.

“She’ll also need future surgeries, not covered by insurance, costing between $100,000 and $150,000.”

He begins to sweat.

“Additionally, she’ll need a high-quality wheelchair and a specially equipped vehicle, totaling around $30,000.”

Overwhelmed, the husband looks desperate. The doctor then pats him on the back and says,

“Relax, I was just kidding. She’s dead.”
