I admire ex-muslims a great deal 🫡

You'll find no better critics of Islam. Not just for that, but also because I think it takes some serious willpower to cast aside some beliefs you might've been indoctrinated into. Especially those who come from Muslim countries where apostasy could get them imprisoned or killed. Anyone who can do that is incredibly brave and tough-as-nails in my book. Respect. ✊

I tend to agree. When I room mated with two Muslim brothers from Iran years back, the elder brother would tend to correct the younger on issues that came up. Namely when they compared Eastern and Western cultural behaviors as to whether they acceptable or not to them. Neither was particularly religious though, or never prayed facing Mecca. Their cousin who occasionally room mated with us was the same as well. Now their relatives and friends who visited from back home were quite different, definitely religious and took exception on just about everything. Especially the militant ones. Again, the elder brother would correct them. He was an overpowering figure and they wouldn't mess with him.
