@James1956 how did or do people meet others from Ep or sw? Mustn't be a thing outside the US given that most users would be from there. Lots of people would be reluctant to meet irl.

Meetings were arranged and one person flew to me and I flew to meet my wife.

@zonavar68 I'm from Denmark and the first person I met was from Chile, the other from Ukraine. I was close with the first person for half a year before we met; daily video calls, almost always on the phone when home. The other person is my husband now, we were close for a year before we met, we'd watch each other play video games via TeamViewer every day while on the phone together, it was very similar to hanging out in real life.

I wouldn't recommend anyone meeting someone that they just write with, that's not safe. It's very different if you spend most of your time together.
