I don't get it

I finally got my steam deck the other day. I tried to download my game and I didn't have enough memory space to download it. So I ordered a SD card and got it yesterday. I started to download it and omfg my internet is SO SLOW at the rate it was downloading it would take a week for it to download. I thought I would ask my neighbor if he had high speed internet and he did. Omg it downloaded my game in less then 3 hour's. I do not understand this is 2023 why doesn't all internet providers just give out high speed.

I still game. I primarily play Overwatch 2. I gave up console gaming by and large and do most of my game playing on a gaming PC that I bought.
What are the advantages of the steam deck. I've seen it, but I'm skeptical of it being able to play graphic heavy games.
