Kind of depends on the person posting and the subject matter. I've seen many that are almost a whole page and usually pass them by when I'm working.

@Rooster Yeah I agree. There are some subjects you can’t skim read too.

I tend to write longer ones, but never expect anyone to hang on until the end. Don’t even need a response, rarely get them, just enjoy writing out my feelings and thoughts.

If it's someone I know and interact with, no post is too long.

@Toepatrol Yes, I'd read long posts from people I talk to most but not from random people.

Couple of paragraphs. At the same time, people should write what they want to write. I just may not get very many replies. I’ve definitely written some long ones just to get some thing off my mind. In those cases I’m pretty surprised when anyone replies.

@WhateverWorks Sure, they can still serve a purpose to get something off your chest or express an idea that buzzes around in your head.
I actually read the long ones usually they don't bother me. It's not like I am too busy or something

17,459 characters! 🙃😈😁
If it's longer than that, then something is fishy about the post! 😁😆😅😂🤣
