I almost wish it could be explained as simply as that. But there is no coherent logic to his decisions, hence volatility in the markets.

@SunshineGirl Perhaps but suppose you were a member of his staff. - if you knew what he’d be announcing and when, you’d know when to buy and when to sell.

@Castenmas The markets rose when he was elected in November, because investors expected deregulation and tax cuts. They bet on the tariffs never transpiring. Now there is a perfect storm of tariffs, bureaucracy, and soaring national debt . . and no one quite knows where Trump is at in his fantasy world.
