Not necessarily fake but certainly ripe for data analysis in several different fields of study. The administrator of one of the Q &A sites I was on was doing graduate work based on data he was gathering from our posts and interactions.

I don't think it's fake. It's real. But I have little doubt that every comment here is being chronicled in some way and shared. For money. They have no real revenue stream to maintain something like this. And marketers like to know how people think. There's value in data and opinions.
