Such a weird world in this new economy crash.

one of our senior employees (by grade not by age) had a baby yesterday. They were still required to be on duty. So in one ward he'd go tend to his wife, then he'd return to the OR to conduct cases. WTF? Poor guy. Now you can't even get a day off on they day of the birthing of your child? You're not allowed to make memories of becoming a father? What's wrong with everyone? So selfish!! They should've given him a day off.

I too was very sick yesterday. Still made to work. Did not get a medical leave... it's a f.cked up system. I feel so exhausted. When i returned home i slept for 11 hours straight, i usually sleep for 7 to 8. But being sick takes a toll on your energy levels anyway. How do they expect me to perform like this? I'm awake now but still feel so exhausted. Have to be at work in a couple hours.
I had jury duty and my job had me put in 6 hours then rush to court.
I wanted a day off for my uncle's funeral. I got it, but they acted like I was asking for the world.
One of my co workers had a cancer scare and he worked every one of his many doctor appointments around his work schedule because they weren't happy about him taking any time off for it.
I can't help but think if we're so damn important to keep the company running why aren't we getting paid like it.

@robingoodfellow What most companies probably want is slaves who only live for the company. It's depressing.

@robingoodfellow Ikr. Why aren't we paid like it!

It's messed up but it's bc this world prioritizes money and greed over wellbeing

@deadgerbil you’re 100% right

You must be a caretaker? Those are the only jobs always need you urgently and wear you out trying to do what you love which is taking care of the sick or needy.
But they say if you love your job you'll never work a day in your life.

That’s terrible!
He could've turned his phone off. You can blame the company somewhat, you can't give it all to them however
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@Justafantasy lol and get fired? Lol
@assemblingaknob pathetic company if they'll fire you for having priorities before them

Are you a nurse?
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Yah that’s terrible.

Here in Canada the father can take paternity leave now which is very progressive.

I hope you are feeling better 💖.
