A stupid thought

People who tell the lonely to "just wait and someone perfect will come along" never seem to have to wait very long themselves 🤔
At 66, I've never heard anyone say that, but it's obviously nonsense.
- No one is perfect.
- Perfection doesn't and cannot exist; it's an idea that mutates its definition according to context, perception, beliefs and experiences.
- Waiting doesn't work.
- One needs to be proactive in order to find a possible partner.
- Developing a good relationship takes constant work on the part of both.
- We get the best chance of success with someone who shares similar values, goals and tastes. A few differences in interests can keep things lively and fresh.

In all seriousness it is a stupid thing to say.
Go on and have the most happy life you can single or not.
And if you wait around for somebody perfect you'll never find them. Perfection in humans does not exist.

Now, I feel weird from being so serious...*Slinks away before someone notices*

Focus on improving self. <3
That’s probably why they think it’s easy.

I say that all the time. And am still waiting myself. And it's OK. This is time to build and work on myself and recover from the past. Yes it sucks.... bad, but no one is telling me who I can talk to, who I can have as a friend and no one but me sets my underwear out for the next day

That’s really stupid advice. That means they have had it very easy in that regard or they are romanticizing the fact that one person sill finally come along.

Well, get out there and harrass the unhappily single and isolated!

What are you waiting for?

😉
