Age Question

I’ve always felt this way since I turned 50 but did older people seem a lot older to you when you were younger? I think of my grand parents and even parents and they seemed so much older and way more mature then my friends and I when we hit the “old” age. Just curious if there are factors that actually make that a possibility or is it just an illusion.

Yes!
When I was a kid, older people looked so much older all the wrinkles and gray hairs.
But I suppose, by contrast when you're a kid majority of the rest of the population is older.
And at middle age, you're closest to being "young" and "old"

Since Ive gotten older, I view age differently, having more years seems to make being relatable with others easier. Less of a barrier and more if an opportunity to find things in common with people you meet.

Its also noteworthy to mention haircuts/hair styles can make a huge difference, a young person can look oldder with an old style hair do.

@Alisha233 and in movies from
50’s-60’s every man wore a suit everywhere they went. That always made them seem older. I don’t remember my Dad always wearing a suit though unless he was going or coming from work. You are spot on with the hair styles! Thanks for the thoughtful feedback for what I feared was a lame question!
