I wasn't a good looking kid. Kind of ugly really

I didn't have to keep a pork chop in my pocket to get the dog to play with me. But I was I ugly. I remember Mom taking my brother and me to the beach one Sunday and I was playing in the sand and looked up and could not find either of them. I knew the towel was right by the life guard. I looked and looked it was getting dark and I asked a police officer if he would help me look for her and my brother. He looked at me kind of glanced around and said I don't know kid there's a lot of places to hide around here.
