passports - got one? not got one? want one? don't want one? need one? don't need one?

I've had one but it expired years ago. I read about the gigantic amounts of time you have to spend at an airport to go on an international flight and freak out.

I haven't had a need or desire to travel outside Australia and luckily we're not a land made of seperate communist 'states' where you have to show a passport to cross state lines (except that stupid shit that happened during Covid lockdowns).

I'd love to visit NZ which does require me to have a passport but no visa is required since Aus and NZ have reciprocal visitor arrangements for citizens.

What are your views on passports?
