You have a right to hit back, obviously, regardless of gender. Unless it was something obvious like self defense on their end.

@BlueVeins I'm speaking hypothetically. If I hurl insults at him then walked up to him and he hits me or if I hit him first I'll just get up and trying to hit him again.

@Chickie Yeah whoever hits first is clearly in the wrong in that situation above all else; being insulted is nowhere near a legitimate reason to escalate to physical force. IDK I guess you could make an argument that it's bad to hit back if you were talkin' shit for no reason to begin with bc then it's kinda like you were lookin' for a fight, but at that point my sympathy for the first hitter has worn through anyway and I don't really care.

They touch me and I’m fighting. Once state police came and I heard one of the troopers asking what they were doing there “it looks like she handled it herself already.” I said to get him the hell out 🙄

Self defense is a whole different issue. Anyone who unprovokedly swings at someone gets whatever they deserve. I believe that with every fiber of my being.
