You have a very long, long bumpy and troublesome road ahead of you. Especially if you don't readjust your beliefs or preferences.
One will eventually have to out weigh the other.
FYI the majority usually take the preference route. That's simply a biology choice.

@DeWayfarer actually it still is a moral choice .We don't all have to be influenced by an identity policy of politics.
