Interesting. Very curious creatures aren't they? Sometimes I wonder if they actually understand on some basic level because of the way they respond to us. Here's some ducks the city released in a neighborhood nearby. Nobody bothers them.
@Applepiedom I think he has an abandonment issue. He told me night before last he would miss me after I told him earlier I would be gone all day the next day and heard me talking about what I would make to bring with me for lunch. He saw me open the can of chicken and start make chicken salad when he said “I will miss you.”
@BizSuitStacy I hope Pet Smart lets me bring him in. Birds can catch viruses especially canaries. This little case would probably be good enough but I will ask when we go there one day.
@4meAndyou I don’t know, he’d like to be up high enough to see the sights I’m sure. Was thinking of taking the boy with me to hold the carrier in his lap till we get there. He listens to me and the boy talk. When I get ready to go somewhere I’ll Say “Come on, let’s go”…and he goes with me. I also say “Let’s go” or “Go with me” and he picked up those two lines as well, used all three the day I was getting ready to go to the laundromat. He watched me sort clothes and load them in the basket. I told him I was going to leave and do laundry. That’s when he started talking like that. The day before I did several errands and went to the doctor and was gone for about 3 hours. He must have missed me and didn’t want me to get in the habit of leaving him every afternoon.
@4meAndyou He didn’t believe me last time. I waited till he was asleep and took one after dinner last night. The birds were all Sleepyheads yesterday due to the weather.
@Majorsite He will let me know for sure. I don’t know how a bird can communicate with humans so well. His memory is excellent with things he has overheard us saying
