What sort of mail/postbox do you have?
Is it a basic one (like mine), or a high security (perhaps lockable) one, or
something different? I just have basic stick-on numbers on the front of it.
Does your mailbox have an opening flap at the front, or just a slot, and does it have a seperate space where small parcels can be placed? Does it have an opening lid or does it open at the back?
For example I think that in the UK it's common to have a mail slot in the front door not so much an actual mail/postbox.
Most Australian individual residences (not in multi-occupancy buildings) tend to have seperate mail/post boxes not attached to or part of the actual dwelling.
Also unlike the USA we can't get mail/post/parcels we're sending picked up out of our mailboxes.
This is mine positioned on the front street-facing property boundary (about 5 m from the actual house building). Has a slot on the front. Lid opens pivoting towards the front. No lock (what's the point?).I don't have a 'no junk mail' marking on it (again what's the point? junk mail and unwanted advertising goes straight into the bin).
