In Britain the default method is in person at your local polling-station, but postal and proxy voting is offered for those unable to use that.

The polling-stations open from 7am to 10pm on the election day, to give as many people as possible the chance to vote.

We don't have specific election buildings of course. The administrators book church or community halls for the day.
