Do you still get mail delivered to your place for the previous tenant?

I have been at my current address for eight years and still receive the previous tenants mail.
I write on the envelope - Not at this address and repost it.
Australia Post is suppose to deal with that information.
There are 30 units where I am and so much mail for previous tenants is delivered, it all goes straight in the bin because no one takes the time to redirect.

I have lived here 14 years and I still get mail for previous tenants and sometimes for the tenant before that. And I redirect a lot of mail for the building. There is even a sign above the mailboxes that says your name has to be on the mailbox to receive mail. I think it's like Lily Tomlin's old Saturday Night Live skit, only it's "We're the Post Office. We don't care, We don't have to."

It has stopped ever since I started binning them. I sent away one letter with return address but they just kept coming. I even opened one that was about a boat union, apparently the guy living here previously was apart of some faculty for boat enthusiasts lol

@MartinTheFirst Seems crazy to still receive mail for someone who has not lived here for eight years.

Yes different names I don’t know why my sister has been here for six years

@MonaReeves86 Do you send them back to the post office with "Not at this Address" written on them or do you throw them out with the rubbish?

@Gusman throw them in the bin

@MonaReeves86 I send them back to the Post Office.
