working at a hotel you see some horrors

They have no respect for other people and property - so no respect for themselves.

My sister said similar things about working one season in a tourist static-caravan park. Most holidaymakers would leave the caravan at the end of their week or fortnight stay, clean and tidy, some would be so thorough the staff did not need do anything.

Yet a few others would leave them dirty and messy.

Oddest she found was the state of the combined toilet and shower compartment in one caravan - the visitors had used it as somewhere to prepare vegetables and had left it littered deeply with muddy potato peelings, carrot tops and other plant trimmings!

Same people who drop litter and leave public spaces in a mess. They have never had to clean up after others so have no empathy.

I've worked front desk at hotels for several months and at one hotel, there was times I had to help housekeeping because that hotel was cheap and didnt wanna hire extra help. I didnt help out often tho but when I did the first day, I had the same reaction you did when I walked into how filthy people leave their rooms. It made me ashamed to be humans because we are some filthy creatures. Like my god people, at least have some decency to flush the toilet and when you order takeout, dont leave your fukin trash on the bed, theres trash cans in your room and outside and in the hallway for a reason!

I work in pest control. Yes I have been in houses that are unfit for anyone to live in

🤔..........When we are staying at a hotel, We always clean up trash on a daily basis. Put trash in the trash cans and don't just leave close just thrown around the room........etc........It's not that hard........If the trash can is too full, we go find another trash can in the hallway or in another area to dump it in.........

Worked a summer camp for kids once. It's no wonder they had/have problems keeping their own help in house keeping. 🙃😊

I remember this well from my first summer job after I left school. People are grim.
