My landlord just saw that my room is a mess

Books and clothes and papers scattered everywhere. And on top of my books, my cup and a plate of food on the table on top of the books pile.....

Is it illegal?

If your apartment is completely unlivable, then yes.

@Rose0415 no. I just have one room and it's got books EVERYWHERE and papers scattered and basically it's not organised bcz when I pile up my books, the next hour I need all of them open in front of me....same with my jacket and my scarf...so everything is on the bed and on the study table.

@Rose0415 but I keep the shared spaces organised. I clean up the whole kitchen and the stove and the counters right after I cook, and nothing is left on the counters. And the pots go back in my drawer.
