I'm going to move from a junior 1 bedroom to a studio in 2 months.

I feel sorry for renters now because there is a shortage of housing in most regions so renting is your only option and each year they raise the price and basically say pay it or move someone will take it!

Don't know how long you have been there, yet if it's short time don't expect much of the deposit back. This is totally dependent on how long you have lived there.
