Cost of monthly housing bills?

Considering purchasing my own house. Not too sure how much I should be thinking the bills will be. If you would like please tell me which house bills you need to pay and around how much they are per month for what amount of sq ft.

that would depend on what kind of house you buy but over all there not much difference in rent and buying , give you an example i bought my house 35 years ago yest it paid for t,the payments were 480.00 a month including tax and insurance the houses in neighbor hood were 500.00 a month .today , my taxes and insurance run 200.00 a month the 600.00 dollar homes rent for 1200.00 to 1500.00 a month .we paid 48.000 for the house today value is 204.000.. taking care of house is just upkeep and remember if you want a differant color rooms just paint your not answering to land lord if a land lord does any up keep your pay it any way in rent and he can raise your rent . word of advice stay away from and hoa .real estate goes up in value even if there is a down turn hang on to your house . you have equity in a home you don't renting .

My last apartment rent was 1,200. I own my house now. I pay my mortgage, electricity and internet.
Fifidog · 26-30, F
@WonderGirl are those the only 3 bills needed for an apartment is there a gas or heating bill?
WonderGirl · 36-40
@Fifidog We have no gas only electric and heat was included.

depending on whether the house Single detached) is in a gated community there maybe community fees. Otherwise the costs of electricity and other utilities (gas, cable, internet, telephone etc) would be comparable to the place you live now. there will be costs to ay to the local "city" government like taxes and city utilities like water and sewer. The maintenance of the house is on your nickel.
Fifidog · 26-30, F
@Orca4950 oh okay good to know thanks! How much do the utilities and electricity usually go for?
Orca4950 · 70-79, M
@Fifidog That's location & residence dependent. if the info isn't on the real estate listing ask the city, or electric & nat gas providers etc or the realtor

Good idea thanks! @Orca4950

Our house is 1,600 sq. ft. and we paid around $170,000 15 years ago. 3 bedroom, 2 bath.

Our mortgage payment is around $950 a month. This includes homeowners insurance.

Then there's electricity, water, trash (all one bill), gas, Internet, which adds up to around $600 or so a month.

Our HOA (grrr...) charges $180 a year. The pool is just a block from our house, which would be great if we ever used the pool.

Regular maintenance stuff probably runs a couple thousand a year, depending on what's going on.

I can't think of any other absolutely essential things.

@Fifidog Remember, of course, your expenses will depend on where you live. We live in a small city in a very affordable state. If you live in a major city or near one, and in a better state, you costs may well be considerably more. Rather than a stand-alone house, you might be wise to look into condos.

@DunningKruger great idea! Thanks for helping me search in the right direction!

Your young whatbare you needing what is the amount of income you can use for the payment alone good rule of thumb is between 1/4-1/3 your take home. If you make 2k a month take home then between 500 and 667.
Fifidog · 26-30, F
@dale74 what bills does the typical house have per month?
Like2play · M
