It's really hot in my apartment, will blackout curtains help?

It's not sunny in my apartment, and I don't open the blinds but the sun hits my windows all day in my living room. It is literally 84 degrees inside my apartment. So I'm hot just simply sitting still.

It's also 102 degrees outside

I’ve got a pair I bought from Amazon. They work both ways, so keeps the heat out during summer and let’s the coolness in during the winter. Definitely worth investing in to a set!!

Yes. I have blackout curtains and some sheer ones. When the black out are closed it will be like 90 degrees between the glass and the curtain and the glass, but only 78on the other side.

Mylar emergency camping blankets stretched tight after you cut them to fit and tape them down. You can see out but they see what they think is aluminum foil

A bit but cheaper are the dark screen roll down shades or even cheaper. Peel and stick shade film. The film comes off right away, there is no clue. It just clings to glass.

@REMsleep where do you find those? I still want to be able to see out my windows though
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@iamnikki You can see out. Its like tint, but a but darker than tint so you can't see out as well as normal.
They have one way mirror or black. I think you use a box cuter to cut to window size. 9.99 on Amazon

Niceguy82 · 36-40, M
@iamnikki it’s material that they make the curtains out of you can buy it a fabric store like Joanns and put it against the window to cover it up
