What's something you like that isn't really popular among other people?
My unpopular item is a lamp. It's not like a regular lamp, though, with a switch. To turn it on or off, you just touch the lamp anywhere (body, harp, harp holder, base, so on). I guess they're called touch lamps, and most of them seem to have Native American artwork. Here's an example of one.
I guess they used to be pretty popular, but home decor has changed a lot over the years. I don't know why this "touch" technology didn't catch on more. It would be interesting to have a touch television, car, stereo system, gaming device, and other stuff. It could even turn on only if it recognizes a registered fingerprint within the area that's interacted with, like the security feature on smartphones.
Skipping showers. I think too many people have become addicted to an idea of cleanliness that is extremely modern and rooted in soap company ads from the last century that were trying to sell product. We're bombarding ourselves with synthetic chemicals under the guise of good health, but if anything, we're getting unhealthier.
Rates of allergies and skin conditions and GI disorders and stuff like that have been rising throughout the last century and I don't think that's a coincidence. We are not exposing ourselves to the germs that all of our ancestors have been exposed to in order to develop a resiliency against these conditions.
That isn't to say that I walk around smelling like a bucket of pickled fish turds, but you don't really need to do it everyday. There should be a balance, and for me that's about 3-4 showers a week. Maybe more if I'm active, but that's not really necessary
I just bought three lamps that have touch for three degrees of light. They have two places to plug in my iPad and phone and two electric outlets. Lamps have come a long way baby,😁
@Arithmoman no just a way to get free stuff from a store. By the time the employees figured out what they did they were long gone down the interstate moving on to someplace new to steal from
