What's something you like that isn't really popular among other people?

My unpopular item is a lamp. It's not like a regular lamp, though, with a switch. To turn it on or off, you just touch the lamp anywhere (body, harp, harp holder, base, so on). I guess they're called touch lamps, and most of them seem to have Native American artwork. Here's an example of one.

I guess they used to be pretty popular, but home decor has changed a lot over the years. I don't know why this "touch" technology didn't catch on more. It would be interesting to have a touch television, car, stereo system, gaming device, and other stuff. It could even turn on only if it recognizes a registered fingerprint within the area that's interacted with, like the security feature on smartphones.

I wouldn’t mind having one especially on my nightstand but that one is gawdy like a flea market item.

@cherokeepatti I agree. There's something about flea markets that I love. I used to visit them with my parents on the weekends. They had something for everyone.

@Arithmoman there was one on the south side of Oklahoma City that I used to go to about 35 years ago but then it got a gang vibe that I didn’t like. I saw Gypsies getting out of a van in a parking lot the last time I went and thought it was hippies because the women were wearing long flowery skirts etc and looked like they slept in the van etc. and thought to myself “Whoa hippies, I haven’t seen hippies in a long time”. But it was Gypsies…two days later they went through my city and went into a very large pharmacy as a group and one of them was pregnant and pretended to faint causing the pharmacy employees to run out and offer her first aid & try to revive her etc. After it was over and they left they discovered 100’s of dollars in merchandise taken from the shelves and not paid for. They didn’t have a lot of security cams back then like they do now.

@cherokeepatti That sounds like some No Country for Old Men stuff.

@Arithmoman no just a way to get free stuff from a store. By the time the employees figured out what they did they were long gone down the interstate moving on to someplace new to steal from

@cherokeepatti I mean, it reminds me of a scene in the movie, in which Anton causes a distraction, then robs the pharmacy of medication.
