@firefall: I think he would get violent but I'm lucky cause he's not around and we could only talk through chat messages. But I'll go through with your advice to "suck it up and apologize"

Only if he's not. My sister used to/still does think my dad is ignorant and stupid, but I think that's just her defense against his opinions that she doesn't like or agree with. It seems childish to me, but it may be different in your case.
