what pet?

My dad hates cats I love cats but I’ve never been allowed one of my own and doesn’t like dogs but luckily I got to grow up with a hamster , buggies , fish , rabbits and guinea pigs. My mum had dogs , my dad said he will refuse to visit if my mum got a dog for me but she got one anyway when I was 10 and my dad actually tried to train it , he didn’t want to stop seeing us just because we had a dog. My mum had two others since then.

1. Move out
2. Buy pet
3. ??????
4. Profit

Because they know how much of a responsibility they are.

Well they can shed and chew up stuff. But that is for like cats and dogs. Hamsters or cage pets would avoid a lot of that. So the reason could vary.

Because he knows the responsibility will eventually fall to him. The care, vet bills, etc

That’s far from universal, though....my father was the one who suggested that it was good for us to have pets.

Maybe your dad would like fish.
