Is there anyone else without an extended family and does it make you sad?

It is seriously just me, the hubby, and the kids. I know that I should be grateful that we are all together, but I feel so lonely and like we're missing out.
The thing that gets me the most is around holidays when everywhere they show big happy (or not so happy) family gatherings with aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. 😕 Anyone else in a similar situation?
